We were disappointed with the speed at which we received our food. We booked for 7.45 & received our food at 9.20. 2 dishes had to go back because they were cold in the middle. The waitress, Annie was excellent. She kept apologising. It was two friends birthdays & we were really disappointed as we have been many times in the past. There seemed to be many large parties. I booked a while ago & would have preferred to have been told it would be a busy night. Not sure if we will be back.

We are a team of dinners who visit every 6 weeks and as individuals . We always find the food excellent and service usually quite good. This visit was a disappointment. There was long periods between our main course and dessert before booking was taken. We requested 3 times for drinks order to be taken. When we finally got our dessert 2 of our party had been what seemed to be forgotten. As a consequence when we enquired twice what was happening we were informed they were being prepared, 10 of our party of 12 had finished their desserts and waiting to order coffee before the remaining 2 desserts finally arrived. One of the dinners found a piece of what looked like red plastic string in her cottage pie which we were told the kitchen would be informed, no apology. When paying the bill i asked what had happened about this only to be told. The waitress Knew nothing about it. There was again no apology or suggestion of finding out what had happened. The last time i dined very recently we were a party of 4 when i arrived i waited at the reception desk only to be totally ignored by the manageress. Yes she was on the telephone but not the whole time we were waiting, which was approx 7 to 8 minutesjust a lift of the eyes to acknowledge we were there would have been sufficient but even after fin ishing the call she then walked to the area where the coffee machine is twice then went to the bar it was as if we were invisible. Not till i said we have a table booked did she then acknowledge our presence. We have been dinners for a long time and the food has always been good. But we do feel customer service training needs a little renewing. We enjoy our meals and feel it would be a shame for the deterioration to increase. As a result of this my party of 12 decided not to tip on this occasion which goes very much against the grain for us. Hoping customer service training is soon to be deployed.

One of, if not the best meal we've had in a very long time. We both had the Thursday steak special, with fillet up-grade, and the steak was "to die for", truly delicious. The chips were perfect, in fact the whole meal was perfect. We will be back, next time we're passing on our narrowboat. Cant wait!

Very enjoyable meal thank you. We will be back. Our table was too near the entrance and cash desk so people kept coming past us. Would have preferred a table further into the body of the restaurant.

We both enjoyed the meal. The service was very good. Could do without the Music when the restaurant is busy. We will visit again.
