We have been several times and have always enjoyed the food, service has always been excellent and staff brilliant . When we visited on Friday our table was booked for 7.30pm. It was approximately 9.15pm before we received our starters. We appreciate it was very busy but at no point were we given an update on how long we would have to wait for our food. Instead we had to chase. When the food eventually arrived it was as usual great but feel the staff on this shift had a lack of updating their customers and perhaps more staff were required to deal with a busy demanding service.

Another very good lunch for us all. Good food at a good price and very helpful staff.

Sadly, on the day, there was rolled cigarette in one of the meals, which spoiled the dining experience for everyone. Two days after eating with you, six of our party had quite bad stomach upsets. Although, I can't say you were the cause, it's an unfortunate coincidence. It's shame because we are local and we were telling all our guests how good The Anchor is. I'm not sure all my guests would now agree. Kind regards, James.

The food and service were great, but I was freezing cold for the entire meal. It was a cold day, but I expected the pub to be warmer than it was.
I have fallen in love with this place. The fantastic service by the waitresses, the speed of the food being served, good quality, good value and loved the roaring fires. A fabulous traditional pub.
