We spent approx £100.00 for Sunday lunch fir 4 of us and it certainly didn't feel like a £100.00 meal. The food wasn't wrong but it wasn't what I would consider a good Sunday roast. The service was considerably slow but as an ex licencee I had no issue with that but others in party did. The deserts were very nice I was told as I don't eat desserts.

Gorgeous sea bream, service excellent service, no fault to be found. There was quite a long wait, but if know it's going to be good, you don't mind waiting for it. Well done.

This is the second time we have eaten at The Anchor, and decided to return after having such a great experience. The food is delicious and very good compared with many other pubs that seem to churn out meals that look like they have just come out of microwave. My only disappointment was the main dish, a seafood linguini. It was more like a chowder/soup due to the sauce being so thin and a result did not flavour the spaghetti enough as it went to the bottom of the bowl. There was ample seafood, so it was a shame. Starters excellent and roast too. Next time I would ask to be seated in the Snug as we were seated next to a table of about 10 people who were quite loud. Lovely pub and garden, polite and welcoming staff who are attentive. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
