I booked early, asked for a table for 2 mature ladies in the restaurant near a fire. We found ourselves by the bar with a constant line of customers passing us on their way to and from the restaurant area. The front door and side entrance doors constantly opening and closing letting in cold draughts.. We both chose a Roast, which arrived promptly but swimming in gravy and the veg all on the plate. We would have appreciated veg and gravy on the side. The good news - I’m Coeliac and the Toffee Apple Crumble was to die for! I came to the Anchor a couple of weeks ago with my Son and Daughter in law,, on a weekday evening, a much better experience then.
