Lovely meal in the sunshine,always a pleasure to be in the garden. And as usual a very congenial host.

We’ve recently decided to move to a plant based diet for environmental reasons. I read the menu and thought it was great that The Anchor were offering plant based/vegan options, however, these were not good at all. They were so processed, the two burgers mushroom stack and jackfruit were deep fried and left us feeling sick. The nachos were just sloppy. This food felt so unhealthy and didn’t taste nice at all. 10 stars for good intentions but 1 for taste, we won’t be eating with you guys again until the vegan offering improves. Sorry. Can I recommend having a look at a the Swan in Lewes, they always do great vegan options.

The food and service were both very good and the garden was really nice, overall a good meal in pleasant surroundings. I would recommend.
