The roast was delicious and the extra gravy very welcome. However, we did think the portion of Macaroni cheese was quite modest for the price and the custard portion with the puddings were rather small.

We stayed close to the pub and ate there every day of our stay. Super friendly reception, great menus and excellent food. Very dog friendly too. Can’t recommend enough. Sunday lamb roast was gluten free and one of the best I have tasted, as was my partner’s great vegetarian roast.

Just really sad that I was called away so quickly, because I was loving my time in the Anchor. Next time I am not coming alone. Can’t wait x

Six of us enjoyed a splendid lunch in the Anchor yesterday (25th March). We were immediately made to feel very welcome, and were looked after superbly by two female members of staff - I'm sorry I don't have their names. The menu choices were extensive, the food of top quality, the portions generous, and all very good value for money. The pub itself is comfortable and relaxed, with a number of interesting features. So, impressed all round, but it was the service that really sparkled. WE SHALL RETURN!
