Service was very good polite helpful. However we arrived at 12.30 had some olives as a starter but did not receive our fish and chips until 13.30. We felt that waiting for an hour was too long,especially as others who arrived later were served ahead of us.

From the moment we entered, to the moment the door closed behind us, we had an extremely positive and tasty experience. Our server could mot have been nicer and more efficient, the Sunday lunch was plentiful and tasty and the ambience just made it a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

Visited The Anchor for a friend's birthday meal and have to say the waitress was amazing. Lovely atmosphere sitting in the snug and waiting for food wasn't long. Not keen on the menu but that's a personal preference. All in all it was a really lovely evening and definitely worth a trip back
