Plrasant lunch with friends rather spoilt by having been presented with a strawberry shortcake in a half pint glass!!! Really?? Why are these chefs trying to be too clever these days!! Deconstructed prawn cocktail now has to be a thing but not for me, sorry. Staff excellent and tried to persuade me to try another pudding but was very disappointed. Never have been before at the Anchor

A really enjoyable meal with a group of friends, two back in the UK from Australia who said it was the best pub meal they’d had during their stay! See you again before Christmas

Good food especially the whole sea bass.Desserts we’re tasty and generous. But I made a mistake not choosing where we sat and we found the snug totally without atmosphere.
Food is always excellent, and the menu changes are frequent enough and not boring. Portions are perfect, and the staff treat you like real friends. It’s become a home from home and I cannot recommend The Anchor enough.
