My food was wrong so my partner had to eat by himself whilst I waited. It was our anniversary so totally ruined. My dessert was still frozen also. Shame because we’d been really looking forward to it.

The food we had was good however the menu didn’t match that which is posted on your website so disappointing to see the main meal and desert I had hoped for was no longer available

Food was not vfm and the beef dish was not well seasoned and my wife's dish was not reflective of description. I had to ask for extra gravy twice.

The staff greeting us and who worked with us before and during our meal were fantastic and could not fault them, a young girl who informed us she had only just started was more than helpful. However after using a voucher which my Australian parents bought online for our Birthdays in March, we were informed that in the T&C's of the voucher that the whole amount had to be used in one sitting. It was a £100 voucher, and were offered to purchase a bottle of wine (neither me or my husband drink at home). We declined the wine and asked if we could speak to a manager. The lovely waitress informed of of course she could. After waiting for over 5mins, our table was approached by ?'manager' who stated very gruffly on this occasion we would be issued with a credit. on stating that we had never heard of vouchers that had to be used in one go, and how often do 2 people spend over £100 in one sitting. The 'manager' paused and replied in a rude manner that they do and that she is not here to argue. She threw the receipt on the table and walked off!. We were totally shocked by her manner and felt she was patronising and rude. Bearing in mind she is supposed to be a manager, and working in an environment where customer service and good communication is essential, and having the skills to be able to discuss issues with customers in a calm and polite manner. As a Bearsted local, we have visited the Black horse many times. However we have now been put off by this incident.

First visit to the Black Horse & we weren’t disappointed. The choice of food and the quality was excellent. The service was very good & the restaurant very attractive. Will definitely return.
