Bars and Pubs

The emphasis at the Black Horse is on quality food, all locally sourced, from high quality suppliers, the meat in fact being delivered from a butcher only a mile down the road. The theme for the food is varied, an excellent selection of traditional English dishes in keeping with the traditional countryside location of the Inn. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of a la carter dishes and regularly changing specials, to keep the offering fresh and varied. The restaurant menu will really get your tastebuds going, and all of the dishes are lovingly prepared onsite by our talented brigade of trained chefs.

An 18th Century Inn, the Black Horse Inn has been a refuge, providing a welcome rest, food and sustenance, and more importantly watering weary travellers for hundreds of years. The selection of ale and wine is second to none, and testament to many years of experience providing excellent hospitality.

The ale and wine offering at the Black Horse, has a similar ethos to the food. To use locally sourced suppliers, Brewers and wineries to provide a wide and varied selection of products that are able to stand up against more mainstream competitors.

First meal out since lockdown, live local so been there many times before. Roast dinner was a let down. One meal was just warm when it arrived and quickly got cold, it was sent back, the food was then reheated. Vegetables, tasteless! chose three scoops of ice cream for dessert, but was given the wrong flavours. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

A lovely quaint village pub , beautiful decor , friendly staff however to many different servers and information got lost , maybe after this recent pandemic these new staff , just a simple note on there pads detailing what the soup of the day was and what’s cheeses were on the cheese board , just simple things the servers should have known . The food was fantastic ,I had the sausages and the wifey had a nut roast , great selection of ales and drinks , and cocktails were only £8 , very busy and could get lost in one of its many rooms but a lovely lovely public house just a minor loss of a star on cleanliness due to gents toilet under stairs full of damp peeling paint and spiders , reminded me of my old outside loo from many years ago . We have stayed over for two days in one of the lodges attached to the pub , lovely reception staff and a great room , will definitely book again whilst in the Maidstone area .
