The emphasis at the Black Horse is on quality food, all locally sourced, from high quality suppliers, the meat in fact being delivered from a butcher only a mile down the road. The theme for the food is varied, an excellent selection of traditional English dishes in keeping with the traditional countryside location of the Inn. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of a la carter dishes and regularly changing specials, to keep the offering fresh and varied. The restaurant menu will really get your tastebuds going, and all of the dishes are lovingly prepared onsite by our talented brigade of trained chefs.

An 18th Century Inn, the Black Horse Inn has been a refuge, providing a welcome rest, food and sustenance, and more importantly watering weary travellers for hundreds of years. The selection of ale and wine is second to none, and testament to many years of experience providing excellent hospitality.

The ale and wine offering at the Black Horse, has a similar ethos to the food. To use locally sourced suppliers, Brewers and wineries to provide a wide and varied selection of products that are able to stand up against more mainstream competitors.

I loved the upgraded terrace and seating outside, although the menu is smaller than prior to lockdown there was enough to entice. I had the plaice which was delicious and my friend had the ploughmans which she enjoyed. Ben looked after us and he was a delight, friendly, helpful, quick and efficient with drinks and very easy to chat with. The Black Horse gets a big thumbs up from me and is dog friendly which is perfect!

We are regular customers. We've stayed over several times & also done a few NYE nights. This was my first post lockdown visit & I have to say I thought the layout of the menu weird & disappointing. Also very little for the non meat eater. I had the fish 'special' which was drowned in lentils with more batter than cauliflower on the 'cauliflower fritters' Staff were great as usual.

The food and the atmosphere were absolutely fantastic and world class. However, the whole experience was made 10x better by the excellent service from our brilliant waiter. The best place to spend a day in Kent. Thanks! :)
