Fabulous as always

Hello, food and service was lovely, however we thought it all looked a bit tired, table was scratched and fire place needed a good clean . Toilets need complete refurbishment, taps were broken.

The food was exceptional as always but on this occasion was let down by how slow service was! I don’t believe it was the girls fault as there didn’t appear to be enough staff on at the time. Also we were with an elderly lady with limited mobility who was made to walk down a lot of stairs, Instead of being given an option of sitting nearer the entry/exit. we were not given a choice. Also we were sat near very loud customers who were just enjoying themselves but again not given the choice of somewhere quieter when there was ample sitting throughout. So unfortunately I couldn’t give you the best review on this occasion. Hopefully we will be back and things will be back to your normal standard

We really enjoyed all aspects of the meal and restaurant except for the disappointing customer service we received from one of the waitresses. She paid a lot of attention to a nearby table of 2 men. One issue we had was her just taking the menu from us to pass to the men when they wanted to order something. She took it without saying a word! We were still waiting for someone to take our food order at the time so obviously still needed it. To be fair to her she did return the menu after she’d taken their order. However, she was so engrossed in chatting with the gentlemen that she just passed the menu back to us to take out of her hand whilst she still had her back to us! Again she didn’t say a word or even look at us! We found it really disrespectful and rude. In addition to this when our mains arrived, she asked if we’d like any sauces and before I’d finished asking for some ketchup she turned her back on us to carry on chatting to the men next to us! We were quite gob smacked! I had to ask another waitress for sauce instead. This is the 3rd time I’ve come here and the service has previously been of a high standard but this experience was really disappointing and left us feeling invisible and not very valued. It’s made me think twice about returning unfortunately which is a shame because the ambience and food have always been outstanding.
