The emphasis at the Black Horse is on quality food, all locally sourced, from high quality suppliers, the meat in fact being delivered from a butcher only a mile down the road. The theme for the food is varied, an excellent selection of traditional English dishes in keeping with the traditional countryside location of the Inn. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of a la carter dishes and regularly changing specials, to keep the offering fresh and varied. The restaurant menu will really get your tastebuds going, and all of the dishes are lovingly prepared onsite by our talented brigade of trained chefs.

An 18th Century Inn, the Black Horse Inn has been a refuge, providing a welcome rest, food and sustenance, and more importantly watering weary travellers for hundreds of years. The selection of ale and wine is second to none, and testament to many years of experience providing excellent hospitality.

The ale and wine offering at the Black Horse, has a similar ethos to the food. To use locally sourced suppliers, Brewers and wineries to provide a wide and varied selection of products that are able to stand up against more mainstream competitors.

The food, as always was good, however, it was extremely busy and tables were closer than comfortable in these strange times,We won't eat here again until the COVID numbers lower in the area or there is a limit on customers at busy times.

To be honest, I was really disappointed with the food. Such a shame as the pub is beautiful, close by and has always been a favourite for a drink but we have only eaten once before lockdown, Sunday roast which was fantastic. We saw the winter menu and it tempted us to come for dinner. I had roasted butternut squash which despite having nice flavours, it was totally overpriced at 14.50. Seriously, there was only about £2 -£3 ingredients on my plate. My partner had the burger and chips, which of the three chips he gave me two were stone cold and solid inside. I understand that restaurants need to make money to cover service etc these are tough times but if the basics are not there or dishes are just blatantly overcharged for people will just stop coming and this would be a tragedy for such a beautiful place. I'm really sorry, I hate moaning but I was so very disappointed and feel this gas to be said as we are not going to rush back now.

Quality place, service great, pub had a local homely feel to it and we were more than happy with the room for the night. Would definitely visit again
