Slightly disappointed that you’d run out of Sunday roasts , however we had the duck and the Kentish braised beef and both dishes were lovely. Staff were very polite and helpful too.

Excellent lunch. Food was very good. Service was efficient and staff were very attentive and served with a smile although very busy. Only one slight comment was the time the initial drinks took to arrive but considering how busy they were and one bar staff short this could be forgiven.

The wait of 45mins for our meal was a bit long.

We arrived 15 minutes early and were shown straight to our table. We ordered drinks. But waited ages for them to be delivered. The hostess did not speak English clearly but was pleasant. Again waited for the menu. Having ordered the starters these ok. Had to chase to get main course served. We were not asked if we needed any further drinks. Decided not to have pudding. Left very disappointed in quality of main course and very poor service. Did not leave a tip. Previous visits were much better. Vegetables were undercooked. Broccoli very hard. Roast potatoes not crispy and not cooked through.

Despite being very busy the service was excellent as was the food. Lovely place we will definitely visit again. Pity about the ladies loos, which were shabby with broken toilet roll dispenser and hand drier.

Wonderful evening....celebrated 50th birthday. Great food, friendly warm welcoming staff, good service. Great atmosphere in and around the pub. Been there before and would be back again, for just a drink or take in a lovely evening out and stay

We have stayed at a lot of places over the years - with and without dogs but this one has topped the lot. The situation is ideal with plenty of country walks, spacious 'chalet' type accommodation with easy access to the outside. The food is to die for and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff. We had an early morning start on the Saturday and when we said that we would have to miss breakfast we were offered hot sandwiches to collect and take with us. They were ready on time and were delicious. This lovely traditional pub is truly dog and people friendly and we will definitely be back. Fab-u-lous!
