The emphasis at the Black Horse is on quality food, all locally sourced, from high quality suppliers, the meat in fact being delivered from a butcher only a mile down the road. The theme for the food is varied, an excellent selection of traditional English dishes in keeping with the traditional countryside location of the Inn. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of a la carter dishes and regularly changing specials, to keep the offering fresh and varied. The restaurant menu will really get your tastebuds going, and all of the dishes are lovingly prepared onsite by our talented brigade of trained chefs.

An 18th Century Inn, the Black Horse Inn has been a refuge, providing a welcome rest, food and sustenance, and more importantly watering weary travellers for hundreds of years. The selection of ale and wine is second to none, and testament to many years of experience providing excellent hospitality.

The ale and wine offering at the Black Horse, has a similar ethos to the food. To use locally sourced suppliers, Brewers and wineries to provide a wide and varied selection of products that are able to stand up against more mainstream competitors.

Haven’t visited for a few years but we really enjoyed the food. Service was good and a nice atmosphere. Couldn’t believe how busy it was for a Tuesday night!

We stayed at the black horse inn for one night in one of the well equipped spacious self contained units and also experienced an amazing meal in the wonderful ambiance of the inn itself. We will definitely return. Thank you

Food very good. My criticism is that salt was added to the chips after cooking. I do not like salt added to plated food.

Been coming here for years. The place is starting to look very dated and worn - cracking paint in toilets, heavy, clunky serving plates, old stereo system that’s lost it’s sound quality. But saying that, the food is to a consistently good standard. Staff always helpful and friendly.

Poor service, We we not asked if we wanted any sources, vinegar ketchup etc with our burgers, I had to walk up to the bar to get someone’s attention. Was told they were short staffed. Drinks we were served were wrong and had to be returned. Wine we ordered was out of stock, The steaks we wanted were not available. Pudding was tart tartan which was cold and the apple in one pudding contained Core of the apple, We felt the overall price charged for the burgers, was expensive and not up to the usual standard..
