The emphasis at the Black Horse is on quality food, all locally sourced, from high quality suppliers, the meat in fact being delivered from a butcher only a mile down the road. The theme for the food is varied, an excellent selection of traditional English dishes in keeping with the traditional countryside location of the Inn. The restaurant also offers an exciting selection of a la carter dishes and regularly changing specials, to keep the offering fresh and varied. The restaurant menu will really get your tastebuds going, and all of the dishes are lovingly prepared onsite by our talented brigade of trained chefs.

An 18th Century Inn, the Black Horse Inn has been a refuge, providing a welcome rest, food and sustenance, and more importantly watering weary travellers for hundreds of years. The selection of ale and wine is second to none, and testament to many years of experience providing excellent hospitality.

The ale and wine offering at the Black Horse, has a similar ethos to the food. To use locally sourced suppliers, Brewers and wineries to provide a wide and varied selection of products that are able to stand up against more mainstream competitors.

We were very disappointed with the food. One of our party had used the pub over many years so we were anticipating much better. Tapas particularly lacking in flavour and unappetising. Also, it would have been nice to have been offered the 'specials'.

We had a lovely meal as a family on Sunday. The roast dinner was excellent. My only feedback would be I felt it could have been seasoned a little better in parts and it would be nice if you had better options for children's roasts as my 8 year old was keen to have one but didn’t want a chicken breast. The windowsill we sat next to was dusty and had dead flies on it which is why I reduced my cleanliness score. Service was lovely. Our waitress was very helpful in guiding us in how much to order and what not to miss out on. Thank you

I had the smoked mackerel starter which was superb. I then had the roast beef Sunday roast but unfortunately the beef was tough, shame!

Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch. Extensive menu. Good service, friendly and attentive staff. Lamb very tasty but slightly too pink for my taste however I was advised by the waitress that it was served pink so that cannot be seen as a fault. Would highly recommend
