Having booked a table a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my husband’s birthday it was disappointing to be shown to a table for two when there were x3 of us and wait for it to be cleaned. We were then told you were short staffed and there may be a little wait. We did then get offered the vacant larger table next to us which we accepted. We sat for approximately 15 minutes before anyone came out to us and offered us some water and menus. The lady was very apologetic and told us she normally organises the tours and was helping out. She was very nice and professional considering she was clearly under some strain. We ordered our food and drink and although there was another long wait for this, I have to say it was lovely, well presented and very tasty. The only minus was that the rosemary chips were cold. It was however, beautiful to sit outside on a bright, crisp day and look at the vineyard. Do you have any heaters? Maybe a suggestion? We did also have a look around the shop which was nice and use the facilities which were clean. We used your food delivery services over lockdown and were impressed with everything. It was such a shame that we had a tainted first visit to your cafe. The gentleman at the shop checkout asked if all was ok and welcomed our honest feedback. He too was very nice and apologetic and explained it was also difficult to manage people coming in from the tours when tables were already booked. Maybe a review of this process too? It is clear to see that you have a fantastic set up if all goes well but you were really just understaffed on this occasion and unfortunate we had to experience it.
