Such a great place, but a little too expensive

This was my second visit but it was very different to my first visit. What I loved about the venue the first time was how attentive the bar team were and interactive. This time I came with my husband rather than my friend and it was very different. I noticed that the bar team were attentive and interactive with the large groups or small groups of women but couples were ignored. The bar manager even went round to the larger tables introducing himself and a new team member. We had to keep moving from our table to ask for drinks whilst the large groups were constantly being given full attention. Other tables were given a free shot when they paid the bill, we didn’t get anything and spent quite a lot of money. Two women came in for one drink and were given shots. It was just a totally different experience with my husband than I had with my friend. My husband didn’t feel we had good service and didn’t like that a service charge was added to the bill especially when we didn’t have food. On the positive, the cocktails were absolutely amazing! By far the best in Exeter! P.S Not able to apply n/a to food so based it on last visit. The meat platter for two was lovely.

Service was appalling, 1 drink in nearly 2 hours. None of the staff wore face masks or stuck to the COVID-19 Rules and Regulations. The manager was too busy pleasing his mates and letting them sit wherever they wanted (contravening Covid-19 rules) and not serving those people already in, who had booked a table.
