Lovely setting shame about the food, the chicken in the smothered chicken was dry chip were soggy. My caeser salad consisted of a few salad leaves 3 croutons and drenched in sauce which made the salad leaves soggy, the anchovies were too great in number it was horrible I left it complained but it was still on the bill at £8.80! Unbeknown to me there was a 10% service charge I didn't mind this as staff were doing their best. Lovely setting but I won't be eating there again.

We would have given a higher score for service but it took about 1 hr 15 mins from arriving to being served our food (which was very tasty).

Ordered our food at 7pm, got to 8:30pm we still hadn’t been served our food, 3 tables who had gotten their before us got their food before us, ended up leaving because it was freezing cold outside, the place is lovely and the staff were too, just a shame about how we were treated

Service terrible, staff doing their best, but whole table service system and processes awful. Decent food, location. Dog roaming around free, partner with pet allergies and baby in pram. Partner ended up sitting in the car while I finished my food. Real shame. Tap water full of bits and tasted bad, rinse the bottles out. So easy to fix a few basics and change the experience to a positive one. Overall 3/10.

We had to wait 1hr and 20 mins for our starters and then a further 30 mins for mains to come out. Good quality was good on starters but burgers seemed to have been standing a while and not the best. Overall very disappointing and the service was the main disappointment.

The staff were welcoming , helpful & busy (which is good). The lovely weather and our appreciation that our pub was open meant that it was easy to be patient and just enjoy the luxury of being out.We enjoyed our food though 2 out of 3 having chips thought them too greasy and soft.My Caesar salad had all the essentials but the added chargrilled chicken breast wasn’t recently cooked and was dry and chewy.We will return! Thank you all for your efforts.

Normally love coming here, food and service always top notch. Thursday, new garden area is lovely couldn’t fault it very nice to sit outside in nice weather so ambience for that was good but was let down by the discussions and stress amongst us and other diners who were annoyed at the waiting times. The couple next to us arrived 15 mins after and had to ask for their drinks 4 times in the space of an hour before they left, I felt sorry for them and they were so patient and polite but didn’t even manage to get their first round of drinks!! Our food was mediocre compared to when we’ve been before, chips overcooked, scampi undercooked what has happened?? I think you have bit off more than you can chew, the outside is lovely but more staff need to accompany it, the younger waitress seemed to be very stress that I felt guilty asking for a town drink (which never came and we had to take it off the bill), to be fair I could list more than a handful of things that went wrong and could’ve been improved that evening. After waiting over an hour for our food I told my partner if it wasn’t out in 10 minutes we’re leaving. Feel awful because we love this place as a small local and independent pub and the people are so lovely hence why I didn’t leave a review on Facebook because it’s tough times and it can jeopardise a small business so I hope this private review is taken more seriously. We will be returning in the future but not any time soon or as often as we used to come, you need to hire more staff and a floor manager needs to be in place to oversee the service and assign staff to a particular area of the pub. Too many mistakes !!
