The bar staff were exceptional and couldn’t do enough to help, even amending my booking as we were running late. The food however was below standard, which as the manager told everyone who would listen was due to the chef, this was very unprofessional and we did not need to hear about his staffing issues or that he works 14 hour days. These things should be dealt with privately and not in front of customers.

Having visited many years before I was expected excellence. Instead the service was slow and the food merely lukewarm. How the glorious has failed.

On arrival all seemed great. However, there were many complaints from other tables which made us apprehensive. We placed our order and 55 minutes later our meals arrived. Both well presented but my pie was cold so my husband had to eat his meal while I was waiting for mine to come back. I couldn’t eat the pie as the steak was plentiful but unchewable but the chips were AMAZING. So I ate them all and left the rest. My husbands fish and chips were okay but nothing special. The team worked hard and we’re very pleasant.

Never disappoints. Sunday lunch is always beautiful and well presented. All staff are always more than helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.
