The burger was a bit oily and the salt, being flaked, was nice but quite a lot.

Excellent. All you could wish for. Small plate plenty for adult. Just wish better selection of wine by the glass. Coming back tomorrow for dinner!

It seems rare these days to walk into a country pub that is not your local and feel immediately comfortable, but this was not the case at the Crown Inn. We booked a table at the Crown inn for an early meal before a concert in Bodmin. 5 o'clock on a Saturday evening we did not expect such a warm and cheerful atmosphere. We were greeted with the smell of wood stoves and delicious food and a gentle humm of early doors customers. Immediately shown to our table in this fascinating historical 12th century inn. With candles already lit and the tables looking so inviting. The food was delicious, freshly cooked standard English Pub menu. The steak pie and extra green vegetables were delicious. My husband had a pint of their red bill beer which went down a treat. Dessert of bread and butter pudding was the perfect finish. The food is not cheap, but I would say fair in price for generous portions of home cooked food. The service was excellent and the host even took the time to wish us a pleasant evening and a brief history of the pub. A Perfect start to our lovely evening.
