Love the food everything about the crown except having to pay on the spot, charging a service charge before you have had any and would have spent more but didn’t want my dinner to get cold while up at the bar?

Generally good. Suggest serving ketchup in a bowl. Mushy peas weren't good. Suggest offering cream with coffee and serving milk for such in a jug. Suggest napkins to be provided in addition to those used to wrap cutlery.

The crown in catered for my mother's wake and it was delicious. Excellent in every way. Thank you.

Came on a recommendation from Steve in Tywardreath and lived the place. Only marked down on food as the chips were, well bland, and found some crab shell in the starter. But if we were locals or here for longer would definitely come again. Thank you fir your hospitality wishing you well x

Food was ok. Felt the price for the sweets was overpriced for what we got. Ordered a trifle which was on the small size. Ordered a flat white and normal coffee and both were undrinkable. Saw the landlord to advise him that he should check coffe gradual levels in his machine. Just said thanks.
Disappointed with lunch, we ordered drinks and was told where our table was. The waitress/bar person said she would be over with menus. They didn’t arrive so went back to the bar to find her on her phone. my wife ordered ham egg and chips, the meal came with three eggs all of them poorly cooked. Burn underneath but cold on top. The waiter was great apologised and brought another. I ordered the burger which would have been nice if cooked properly. Browned on either side but rare in middle like a steak. I didn’t want it put back on the griddle so I just ate it. The chips and coleslaw were really nice. We are local and the Crown was recommended to us by friends. I hope our experience was a one off but we won’t be returning. We are both in hospitality and we understand that staffing has been an issue over the last few years but it’s a real worry if your chef cannot cook an egg. Jason.
