The staff were very busy, so the service was good maybe more hands on deck needed ? Also toilets were restricted to one for men and women ? Very nice food and we will be back, I hope you don’t mind the constructive criticism…

I’ve been here a few times and loved it but my visit on Saturday was a huge disappointment. The food (nacho’s) were served almost cold. There was a table of around twenty men who were rude, bashed my chair most of the evening and it was super rowdy. I’d understand if this was a pub in town but this is not what I’ve come to expect of the DH. Do not get me started on the bathroom. The toilet seat and floor was swimming in urine at 8:30 in the evening. I went to another bar just so I didn’t have to face it again.
I usually really enjoy the Dark Horse but have only ever come in for breakfast and brunch and have only ever had lovely experiences. I came for dinner for the first time on Friday and can’t say it was as great an experience as usual. The table was not laid upon arrival, regardless of the fact that we had a booking. This would usually not bother me too much but it got worse as once my partner and I had sat at our table, we realised it had not even been wiped after previous customers. This was disappointing as there were at least 4-5 other free tables which appeared to be clean and laid. In fairness, we did ask the waitress if she could wipe it and she immediately came over to wipe the table and provided us with menus and cutlery. We ordered the seafood sharer, which sounded fab on the menu, however we were then informed that there was no lobster ( I completely understood as I’ve worked in the hospitality industry myself as know exactly how it goes when stock is low). However when the platter arrived, we noticed it was also missing the squid that should’ve been served (according to the menu). To top it off, we had asked 4 times for a jug of water which resulted in taking an hour to arrive to our table. I hate to leave a bad review as I really do love the Dark Horse, but I didn’t feel that service was up to it’s usual standard :( I will be back as it’s the only time I’ve been left disappointed but hope this can be fixed.
