Food was sensational!

Food was great, our waitress was lovely. Service was a little slow which did mean we didn’t get to enjoy dessert but we had a great time.

I quite often pop into the dark horse for brunch which is always great, as is the service during the day. However having an evening meal was a slightly different experience in terms of service. I love that table service is ongoing, but the evening staff weren’t keeping a keen eye on tables for drinks, we had to flag down staff repeatedly to order drinks, capturing attention was quite a task. One of team at one point said, “just hang on” which was quite abrupt. Simple manners, keeping an eye on empty glasses and perhaps ownership of a number of tables will go a long way to make it more efficient. Also when collecting empty dishes after we finished our meal, the waitress took all the cutlery in one had and as a result of bunching the cutlery in her left hand, it ended up pointing towards my eyes, I had to move my head quickly as it was about to come into contact with my face. She and I had a little giggle as I moved and she said oops it almost went in your eye clearly no harm done. I really don’t mean to be pedantic, but small simple adjustments would make the service experience much more effective. I love the food, cocktails, ambience it’s a fab place, and I’ll continue coming back. I just hope that you take this as constructive.
