Quite possibly the best “Full English” I can recall. Truly it was perfect. Staff are always fun and engaging. It’s just a great place and well priced. Their Baristas know their job too. Go there…

The Deck is a hidden gem, a sunny terrace with a wonderful view of the marina, with delicious food and friendly service. Will be back!

Hi - we came for lunch on Sunday - we eat at the deck very regularly due to the setting, the excellent food and good service. We were told that there was no brunch being served - we'd always understood this to be served until 3pm so a couple of our party had to choose again - and that just the lunch menu was available. We were guests of my brother in law and so we did not make a fuss, but our whole experience was not good. 3 of us had the salmon and crab salad which was miniscule compared to every other time we'd had it and it had been a favourite. My husband and I both had fish and chips and the fish was tiny, very greasy, way overcooked and grey. I was told it was coley, but I can say that it was one of the worse I'd been served in a long time. I understand that the mussels and roast were good. The brownies were dry and my brother in law specifically mentioned this to be reported back to the kitchen 2 members of staff, plus that one came with a generous triangle of foil! No one apologised or came to speak to us about this at all and at £220, we felt like we would not come back to the Deck for lunch. The waitress looking after us was efficient, but she did not smile or engage and we felt like we were an inconvenience and this felt a very different service experience from usual. To be honest I never complain about a poor meal - we would normally just never return to a restaurant after this - but when I saw your email I decided I would because it was such an unusual experience and we've had so many good meals/times there, that we wanted to be able to come back. I don't know if a different staff team or new owners or some kind of change in policy caused any of this, but I thought you may want the feedback to show it didn't work for us. Sorry to send this genuinely. Hope it's helpful Best Al Alison

I've eaten at the Deck on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed your food. I am so sorry to say I was a little disappointed this time. Staff seemed a little rushed and on occasions, they were quite curt. We were given the wrong menus to start with, they were taken away and changed but when we tried to order something from the menus we had just been given we were told you weren't doing the brunch menu. . . one main meal was so small I queried whether we had been given the starter size by mistake. I was first told it was because the ingredients were very expensive. . . increase the price, don't reduce the amount of food. After discussion, this was rectified and we were charged the starter price but it was a very awkward conversation.
