Everything was great.

We had another excellent meal at the Dog and especially liked the black puffing fritter special starter - definitely needs to go on the main menu.

Unfortunately the food was terrible, we have been coming here annually for the last 4 years, but unfortunately we will not be coming back. We would really like to know, was all of the food pre-cooked and then reheated? Because that was how it tasted; The pre order olives came with the starters. The soup was burnt. The confit duck didn't appear to be confit and the breast meat although pink was dry and the rosti's were burnt! The steaks all tasted more of charcoal than steak, I know you say chargrilled, but I would suggest the chargrill needs a good clean, because that's all you could taste. One steak was meant to be med/rare, but was well done (although this didn't get returned as there was to much going on with the other meals). One main was missed out altogether, and when it did arrive, again the chargrill was over powering (but again wasn't mentioned because of all the fuss that was going on). The black & blue beef was to be med/well done and was more rare. The chips were all as though they had been reheated in the oven, very dry. Then finally, the brownie's were huge and very dry, served with a very small amount of ice cream. So unfortunately a great disappointment, sorry. As I mentioned earlier, we would really like to know, if all of the meals apart from the linguine were precooked? and if so I would really change this as it doesn't work. All of the waitress staff were very apologetic and understanding, although we did feel that as the problems kept appearing the attitude of the lady, that I guess is the manager, became very terse. I know there was a lot going on, but, it doesn't help when you are made to feel like it is your fault as the customer, that things are wrong. We can't help the fact that there were lots of elements that were wrong, to be honest there were lots more that we didn't mention because we felt like we daren't!! Not a great evening food wise unfortunately.
