We sampled the new menu on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed the good. We had another good night at the dog and it was great to see it full with a good atmosphere. Back to how things were pre-covid!

Our Airbnb host in Crich recommended The Dog and we were not disappointed. Great service, varied menu with lots of locally sourced food which was beautifully cooked. Highly recommended

The service was fantastic! Served by young lady and a lovely gent behind bar. We were sat in the bar area and had to wait for another guest which made us run late but we wasn’t rushed and when we did order and get food it was amazing! Couldn’t fault! Would recommend to anyone :)

Excellent food and service will be back very soon as nowhere can be matched for Sunday dinner

The number of pubs and restaurants that say they are accessible for wheelchair users and prove not to be. It's very frustrating. However I am pleased to report that the Dog Inn is very much accessible. From the logical placement of disabled parking bays to wide opening doors and ramps to wide corridors and enough space in the restaurant to accommodate a wheelchair. All on one level.Other restaurant owners take note. After all it should be access for all, right? I am also pleased to report the food was quite simply stunning. We both had Sunday roasts, lamb and pork respectively . Vegetables are served separately in hot small pans on a wooden base. Carrot and Swede mash, wonderful home baked roasties, and delightful honey roast parsnips and broccoli stems. All fresh and perfectly cooked. Very good size portions of meat with lovely buttery mash and delightful gravy. The Yorkshire puddings were crisp and flavoursome. Why do restaurants keep serving Yorkshire puddings with all meats? ONLY BEEF!! Desserts were the indulgent chocolate brownie and the trifle equally indulgent followed by a good mug of lovely americano coffee. The number of times I ask for it to be served after dessert but it isn't. At The Dog it was served precisely after I'd finished. Service was polite, friendly and efficient while being relaxed. Best Sunday Lunch we've had for a very very long time.

We witnessed foul language at the bar when we arrived from other customers. Put us off.
Booked a table at 7pm and on sitting down was immediately told there was no Mussels left which was disappointing.
