Lovely food although some of my party found the turkey disappointing. Lovely atmosphere and extremely helpful and welcoming staff.

We always like to go to the Dog because it offers something "different" and classy, yet the prices are reasonable in view of the quality of the food. The menu is changed frequently, so we always find something "new" to eat. Simply, we enjoy eating there.

Our first lunch visit since its new owners took over and it won't be our last. We welcomed with a very pleasant smile and given a choice of where to sit. Attentive service and lovely hot food well presented. Excellent

Excellent all around and, while the prices seemed a little more expensive than average, it was very good value

Absolutely perfect, the staff were extremely friendly, the bar/restaurant was very clean with a welcoming atmosphere and the food was cooked perfect. Thank you we will be returning soon

We had a very enjoyable meal but we did feel a little rushed, service was very quick but a little too quick, I suppose we should have slowed things down at the time. The leather chairs are very low and quite uncomfortable so I suppose by being served quick we didn’t have to sit on them for too long. All the staff were very pleasant.

Amazing
Staff very attentive at the beginning of the meal with enquiries re allergies etc. The plethora of clipboards holding menus is, however, a distraction. Food good and the two of us who had plates enjoyed our meals, the pork and the steak frites especially deserve mention, excellent. The fish and chips and steak pie were served in an alternative way, the former in a sort of box and the latter having all the elements of the meal in separate dishes that they were cooked in and so extremely hot which made eating them rather a challenge! Had to ask three times for the dessert menu with a wait between requests so decided not to chance coffees! In summary, food well cooked and of good quality but presentation and service can be over complicated and the wait for service at the end of the meal ( not for the first time on visits) can be overlong.
