Staff were brilliant, they looked after us really well.We were a safe distance from other diners. The food was simply gorgeous, the roast potatoes were crispy, the veg wasn't mushy, the beef was super tender, the yorkshire pudding would have made a yorkshire woman proud to have produced it and the gravy was really tasty. It was everything you'd expect from a superb home cooked roast dinner.

Odd that 3 people were seated at a table very close to us when there was one unoccupied much further away

had to send first steak back as cremated and second one not much better. waiters did try to sort the problem. the fish dish was saved by the thia sauce which was tasty rice could be flavoured instead of plain. the eton mess was boring just blobs of ice cream with some chopped up strawberries and mini meringue thrown on top.cheese board was good.

On the whole, was excellent. A vegan friendly dessert would have been good. I saw sorbet on the menu as an accompaniment to other desserts, which I presume was vegan, but no dessert was marked specifically vegan. We were sat downstairs next to the 'large herd or Cornish cows' picture and I was quite cold. Probably with the restaurant being less full than you would have previously had it the indoor temperature is also now a little cooler. We really enjoyed the animal prints, but again as the place needs to have less people in it these days, a little more by way of decor might be nice to fill the space they have left.
