Can’t praise everything enough - a few more stars warranted ? If we lived closer, not 200+ miles away, we would be regulars. Hey ho

First time back since 'lockdown'. Service was excellent as always. Can understand why the doors are left open, however having both sets of doors fully open caused a huge draught which made us all feel quite chilled and wasn't pleasant. My two companions both had fish & chips, which they both enjoyed but commented that the portion size seemed to have decreased since our last visit and that the price had increased significantly. I had the steak,( also increased price wise ), I was really disappointed, the steak was cooked nicely but was very fatty, a good 33% was inedible, the meal in general had also shrunk in size and content since pre lockdown, where were the minted peas? My gateaux dessert was good. As it was a Wed we did receive the £10 a head reduction. That in effect reduced my steak meal to £16, however it wasn't, in my opinion, worth anywhere near that, I would've been happier with a burger. Sad. We've had many, many excellent meals at The Hayloft in the past.

Lovely staff and friendly service. Puddings were excellent. Only negative was that we were sat fairly close to a large party with a lot of children and it was difficult to hear ourselves talk!

Service was slow, but the restaurant was busy. Noisy family group that allowed their children to shout and mess about rather spoilt the ambience for us.

Nice venue and lovely staff. I had stirlon steak and chips with came with a baked onion, two mushrooms and half a cooked tomato. The chips were homemade and very nice, good sized steak but was over seasoned for me (this was not an option) and it wasn't the leanest cut of steak. I was disappointed it didnt have any vegetables offered with the dish. Over all a nice meal but I would say it is over priced at £26 based on quality of cut and no vegetables. We visited on an eat out discount night so we were happy with what we paid, after discount this meal was £16, which is more reasonable for the dish that was served.
