Great Sunday roast, with some of the best Yorkshire puds and veg there is.

Went for dinner with my partner on Friday 14th Aug and as soon as i got home i had food poisoning for the next 12 hours. Something was off in the food and i should really be asking for my money back. I had the crab salad for starter, the lamb for the main and the cherry and chocolate for dessert. Please can you look into your health standards as especially now with covid-19 these need to be as high as ever. Sonia

The food was ok. Due to bad service it was unfortunately only warm. The starters were fine. Main course the very opposite.

All meals were very good albeit on the cusp of being small portions but just feel particularly let down by the Cornish raspberry trifle, it was served with one cherry sitting on top and absolutely no raspberry’s on or in the trifle which left it rather bland and although delicate I just think it needed the sharpness and flavour of a few ‘Cornish raspberries’ to complement and make it a raspberry trifle

Overall a pleasant experience. It was especially Nice to go out for a meal given these times. I ordered the sea bass with jasmine rice. Very tasty fish but the jasmine rice appeared as a blob of sticky rice which I could not eat. It was awful and we fed this back to our server. The Black Forest gateaux for my dessert came out as more of a chocolate pudding. It was delicious but not as described so I think the menu needs to be more accurate when describing dishes. Warmer decor since the new management and pleased to see they are serving locally sourced ingredients.
