The Hayloft is a 19th century hay barn that was an intrinsic part of the spice route between Penzance and London. Having been a restaurant for 40 years, the Burns family bought The Hayloft in 2016 and have been renovating the building back to former glory.

Chicken liver parfait was not very pleasant as almost completely liquid in the centre and unspreadable. Otherwise very nice indeed. Chicken for the main course was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Waitress attentive and lots of check backs. Nice drinks, pleased to see somewhere that does mocktails and other soft drinks for the drivers. Would come again.

The service was very accommodating as we had asked for an outside table. The menu was quite enterprising and mostly of a good standard though the tempura courgette starter was mostly batter with a very dry accompaniment. Good to be seated outside on such a warm evening but the traffic noise on the A38 was quit intrusive!

Very disappointed with my dessert. And the price for what it was. Avoid Black Forest tart

Everything was spot on from start to finish. We wer down In Looe for the week on holiday so booked in for our evening meal on Monday Night, the service and food was brilliant and the surprise eat out to help out discount made our experience even better.

Nice meal, but too hot upstairs not the fault of restaurant , fish and chips ok but not presented well, looked like it was just shoved on plate. Table sticky to touch.
