Loved our visit previous visit had been years ago and this time was the absolute opposite, the service was friendly, quick and responsive, the atmosphere much improved by the removal of 'that' carpet and a smartened up (not top score as dealing with covid so no atmosphere is top marks currently). The food was delicious- highly recommended and look forward to another visit soon. Thank you

first visit and menu too fussy for one party member. portions very small and prices too high for the experience. benefit from eat to help made it bearable but full price would have been overpriced.

Food - overly salty, poor overall. Service- wrong orders, no cutlery with food. Ambience- pub like, not restaurant Like. Cleanliness - sticky table. We wish you well and hope you appreciate constructive criticism and feedback off social media.

Friendly and attentive staff however extremely shocked and disappointed at the standard and portion size of the food for the price. Having eaten in some of the best restaurants in the south west I have no problem with paying for good food, although for £15 I would expect a ‘house burger’ to come with some sort of side salad. Instead, I’m sorry to say, we received the sort of ensemble better suited to a budget cafe, in an anaemic looking roll and some soggy chips. The hake with tomato stew was pleasant but seemed to rather watery and no where near the £16 price tag. Pudding priced at £7 & £8 was an anticlimax. I really wanted to support local businesses during this pandemic, and perhaps we picked an ‘off day’ but I’m afraid I won’t be returning to the Hayloft, which is a real shame as it’s a great location for my family and I who live near by.

Great place for breakfast very accommodating. Prices are reasonable, clean place.
Where to begin. Arrived and asked where we were sitting. Thought I'd been helpful by stating I didn't mind on my booking form but told "I'll need to ask the manager" as if this was some difficult decision and problem I'd caused. Seated outside. Had to go in to get service to start with as no one came to take order. Starter of chicken liver parfait was almost liquid. The peaches with it were just horribly sour and not sweet at all. The main course of chicken was fine but nothing at all special for the price and didn't have any bacon or broad beans as the menu said. The leeks/peas were over cooked and the onion/leek burnt. The side of vegetables had only more peas and burnt leeks! My partners fish was cooked alright but the rice moved as one glutinous mass and the only other accompaniment was a piece of rock hard charred pak choi. Dessert was fabulous but it was from the local morrisons which I can highly recommend!
