The Hayloft is a 19th century hay barn that was an intrinsic part of the spice route between Penzance and London. Having been a restaurant for 40 years, the Burns family bought The Hayloft in 2016 and have been renovating the building back to former glory.

The friendliest restaurant I’ve ever been to. Absolutely delicious food and they love dogs and made our Bernese Mountain Dog most welcome.

Had a lovely family meal. The food was outstanding and the service great! The lady and two young men who served us were friendly polite and the lady in particular just lovely! We were on holiday from Cambridge and have not had such good food out in a long time. Thank you for a great meal and evening out!

The food lacked quality control, the cheese was mainly the rind and the nectarines were unripe . The green veg had just the asparagus storks, monk fish had a huge lump of butter that would not melt and the crab was unrecognisable! Poor show and staff just ignored our issues, nice staff though but untrained. Poor show for the money, as locals we will not be back. Peter Barnes

The food and service were great. The only comment we would make is that the vegetables were too al dente for us. Will be back soon
