The Hayloft is a 19th century hay barn that was an intrinsic part of the spice route between Penzance and London. Having been a restaurant for 40 years, the Burns family bought The Hayloft in 2016 and have been renovating the building back to former glory.

Visited for Sunday lunch and couldn’t have wished for better. Very welcoming staff with a lovely approach to customer care. Food absolutely delicious ..one of the very best Sunday roasts we’ve ever had. A must for anyone visiting the area. ☺️

Hi there The table was sticky but I put this down to the varnished table. Maybe give it another coat or sand it down. Also, just do a simple nut roast for the veggie roast option. It’s the 2nd time I’ve had some sort of veggie tart and left most of it. More freshly cooked green veg instead of mushy cauliflower. And more than 2 roast potatoes per person. We had to ask for more. Sorry and thank you.

Very posh food. Didn’t realise this when booking, just presumed it was a pub near the activity centre. We were Go Karting and needed to feed the kids before it was too late - nearly £100 later we left with not particularly full bellies. Food was beautifully presented yet not a lot for the price. No option for the children for pudding either- 1 scoop of ice cream for the kids was not great - particularly for £4 each. Just a bit shocked by price. Not being a local, we did not realise the price of the food and couldn’t up and leave as the children were starving.
