The food at the Hayloft is absolutely fantastic, by far the best Sunday Roast we have had in a restaurant/pub setting, the meats are really tender and tasty - the roast lamb is superb and the gravy so rich and tasty (I would love the recipe). As a yorkshire lad I would deffo give a good 9 out of 10 for the Yorkshire Puds - not these puffed of air filled crispy rubbish some places offer. How good is the food - Well this is our 2nd Sunday roast out of the 2 weeks that we’re here and were are going again on Tuesday for Lobster Mmmmm Fantastic service. Brilliant.

Our 1st visit to the hayloft, Starter was amazing and I thought great choice of restaurant for my birthday but the main was disappointing although Mike had the lamb which was nice. Desert on the other hand was terrible and spoilt the whole experience, I had the strawberry cream tart which sounds like it would be amazing, it was not, it was tasteless and horrid, Mike had the sorbet because it was the only thing egg free and it was very bitter. The meal with drinks came to £100 for two which is about right these days I suppose but the deserts cost us £13 and that was a waste of money for sure! I asked for a nice table when I made the online booking and I was put in a corner of the downstairs room starring at a white wall ( interesting choice I thought for a nice table ) music could have been better and the reception seemed to offer a seating area but really, who would want to sit on a hard narrow bench seat, why not take half of the seating out and put in a comfy sofa. Some missed opportunities I thought, could have been loads better. But to end on a positive the waitress was lovely and a happy person and again my starter was amazing. Would I go back? Sadly no, sorry

We did enjoy our evening and the staff were lovely but some points could have improved it - very long wait between courses, tables very sticky, no music, and the food was a bit hit and miss, one lovely course but the other two were just OK.
