The Hayloft is a 19th century hay barn that was an intrinsic part of the spice route between Penzance and London. Having been a restaurant for 40 years, the Burns family bought The Hayloft in 2016 and have been renovating the building back to former glory.

Food was delicious. Well presented and fresh. The restaurant was a little cold and at times the music a little intrusive as the speaker was just above us, in the corner. However service was brilliant, it was a lovely evening and we will definitely return.

Warm welcome, great food and a good if small wine list. All reasonably priced. The Cornish white at £28 a bottle was crisp, dry and a great discovery. Don't speed past this place on the A38. It is well worth stopping by.

The food has always been delicious with so much flavour, the service is 2nd to none, always friendly helpful and accommodating. It may be a modern rustic feel but there is never a speck of dust or dirt in sight with well chosen art work that compliments the style. It May cost a bit more than your average restaurant, but its worth it for those special occasions or when you fancy a treat. I'd thoroughly recommend for a Sunday Roast!!!

We were very disappointed that the menu advertised on your website was not available - no mussels, scallops or lobster on the menu. There is no excuse for misleading customers like this, and despite the fact we told you of our disappointment, your website still shows the incorrect menu today. The actual food was nothing more than OK, but did not compare to that promised by your website. You are misleading customers.

Would have liked to have received a formal confirmation of the booking earlier as requested both on the initial phone call and follow up email. Confirmation in the form of a reminder was only received the day before the event. It was a lovely evening, thank you for the complementary fizz, food was fine, ambience pleasant and the waiting on staff had character and personality.

The food was nice but we didn't feel it was very good value for money. Sorry but it wouldn't bring us back for more.
