Carvery food was a little dry, think it would have been there too long, but, nevertheless we still had an enjoyable evening and thank you for your hospitality

Made a telephone reservation for 8 specifically for the conservatory so that we would not be crammed into the room opposite the bar and have at least 1 guest roast by the open fire and have another with their back directly against a neighbouring table. The conservatory was also selected in order that my son, who had undergone knee surgery less than week before, could sit somewhere that would allow him greater flexibility. On arrival was originally given the impression that I'd been done a favour by moving the party out of the conservatory. Was then told it wasn't actually viable to have the heating on in the conservatory other than at weekends. Implication is that management policy is not to tell customers that they can't have the table they ask for. Lady told us it was her 'error' but this was not the case - she was just following management policy. For the manager to then tell me that I was being unreasonable by complaining at all was extremely annoying and, had it not been my wife's birthday get together, would have resulted in us leaving there and then. It is the manager's policy that is unreasonable - deliberately lying to customers when booking and then expecting them to just accept the situation without a murmur.
