We’d booked a table for 9am but they didn’t seem to open until 10 past. Food was good. But £4.50 for 2 pieces of toast seemed steep.

Have visited twice. If only I lived closer. The food is absolutely delicious. Portions are so generous. On my second visit I had full English breakfast. 3 sausages, maybe 6 rashers bacon, so many cherry tomatoes and tiny button mushrooms, two fried eggs and sourdough toast. Only complaint is that there could have been more butter on the toast. I didn’t ask for more but I’m certain had I it would have been forthcoming. I couldn’t finish my breakfast and a takeaway box was offered. Cakes and pastries looked so good. Next time. Well done Symondsbury.

Great service from the ladies serving us but sadly both our omelettes and chips were overcooked. This has never happened before so I hope that this is a one off because you were very busy.

Excellent portion of cod, v good omelette and pulled pork. My toastie yesterday was just slightly overcooked on this occasion and hence a little tough. Filling good as always.

It was a disappointment to find virtually nothing on the menu without garlic!

Sadly it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. Food was lovely when it arrived and although we were told that you were short staffed we had to wait an extraordinary long time and were frustrated when saw people who had arrived after us getting served before us.

We enjoyed the food during our visit yesterday. Fresh and flavoursome (apart from some of the chips which had been in and out of the fryer rather too many times and were black and solid). The simple menu was fine and interesting. The service was a little slow, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt there weren't quite enough people out front to cope with the number of customers. As far as ambience is concerned, much as I enjoy a bit of Elton John, Coldplay etc., it was all a bit loud and unnecessary as background to lunch. How about lowering the volume and providing something classical - more in keeping with the country cafe vibe. It would be much more pleasant and restful. Hope the comments help.
Efficient friendly staff. Limited menu choice but we all chose the fish which was beautifully cooked. Delicious
