The good was great but the service was poor. The waiting staff were polite but slow and not enough of them.

Not the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was a bit slushy.

The food was all tasty, if not a little expensive.

TBH we came here for lunch because we couldn't find many places open on my Birthday (27/12) - but we're glad we did. The food is delicious (if slightly pricey and rather small portions) served by smiley and efficient staff in very pleasant surroundings. Loved it. Shame it was raining too much to have a walk afterwards!

The venison burger was perfectly balanced by coleslaw, cheese and apple sauce. The younger people ate the homemade soup of the day and shared toasties. They report that all were excellent.

Great food and good service as always, thank you.

I was rather disappointed with the mackerel pate small platter, because the bread comprised two small very hard and brittle croutons like slices. It was described as garlic bread I believe but not very palatable and not enough for the amount of pate. I would like to see some more interesting salads than leaves and lettuce. Some winter mixed bean salad, perhaps? Even tomato salad. Otherwise it was as usual a very nice ambience and the hot chocolate and flapjack was excellent

Always enjoy a visit here, either just for coffee and cake, or lunch, as on this occasion. Will definitely come again soon.
