Food was imaginative and well cooked. The house wine was also very good.

Celebrated my 60th birthday breakfast with you and had the most wonderful time. Nothing was to much trouble, with friendly efficient service.

The only comment I have is that we booked the table at 12pm, which was confirmed by email to us. I even had an email exchange under that subject with Sarah regarding bringing my dog. Upon arrival the staff did not have our booking for that time and said that they were fully booked until 2pm. I explained that we had booked and that both of us came a long way meeting in the middle without knowing the area and where we could have lunch instead. I was told that there was nothing they could do and that the internet booking system sometimes did not work. That is it. I am aware that the staff might be busy or overwhelmed, but please forgive me in saying that I got the feeling of not really caring for the situation we were left in nor trying to accommodate us by suggestion we could perhaps eat at a closeby place or simply in your lovely terrace outside. it is so simple saying: we are really so sorry about this (i showed our booking!) and perhaps we can accomodate you outside? or let me check, if we cannot sit you at another table or perhaps you can look around the shops and I can call you, if someone does not turn up etc etc etc. We love your place and this was a return visit, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed regarding how this issue was handled. However everyone can have a bad day especially considering the current situation. We will be back probably and will book via phone next time!

Fish dish absolutely delicious. Lemon and poppy seed cake terrible, regret having. Lovely staff, a bit cold and drafty but this is our future no doubt. Many thanks

We always stop when we’re passing through (not often enough) and the food & service never fail to impress. It’s our little treat on the way to the West Country and long may it remain so. Well done all of you.
