Sadly it wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. Food was lovely when it arrived and although we were told that you were short staffed we had to wait an extraordinary long time and were frustrated when saw people who had arrived after us getting served before us.

We enjoyed the food during our visit yesterday. Fresh and flavoursome (apart from some of the chips which had been in and out of the fryer rather too many times and were black and solid). The simple menu was fine and interesting. The service was a little slow, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt there weren't quite enough people out front to cope with the number of customers. As far as ambience is concerned, much as I enjoy a bit of Elton John, Coldplay etc., it was all a bit loud and unnecessary as background to lunch. How about lowering the volume and providing something classical - more in keeping with the country cafe vibe. It would be much more pleasant and restful. Hope the comments help.

We waited over an hour from arrival for our food even though two of the dishes did not require cooking and the other two were only omlettes and salad. The waiting staff were very pleasant when, eventually, the food arrived. We did not complain as we appreciate there may be staffing shortages at present. Overall the visit was most enjoyable.

Food was inconsistent to last visit we both had full breakfast and different amounts of bacon on each. Sausages appeared to be double cooked. Last visit 2 pieces of toast and more mushrooms but what we had was lovely.

Never had anything but excellent food. The omelette was delicious.
It was a disappointment to find virtually nothing on the menu without garlic!
