Something has definitely changed, hoping that it us just a post Christmas lapse! Beef was tough and the Pork was so overcooked it would have required an axe to break through it. This wsd reported to the waiting staff with no feedback

Took my mum for a meal first time we tried it ....it was a little cold we were sitting by a window and shame that lovely coal fire wasn't lit seems were in winter January....the food was OK but we had to wait over half hour for the food to come out and another 20 mins for our pudding to arrive which we wasn't happy about ....Nice people running it but service could be better with the food

The food is always good but sometimes the service isn't great, they lost our order so sat there for 1hr 20 & then had to ask, nobody noticed or bothered to check, need to care a bit more about their customers.

I personally took in completed Christmas lunch order on 24th Nov and paid deposit. I spoke to staff. When I arrived at 12 on 28th Dec,staff appeared confused about it. Another order had gone wrong just before, they said. We waited far too long, with too little reassurance. I had to ask. Timing was very unfortunate. Three of the party needed to return to London and one to Yorkshire that evening. The late food spoilt the important family occasion.I would be grateful for a clear cogent explanation as otherwise I shall not be coming back. The actual food standard was good.

Plates were cold, so the food was too after a few minutes. Gents toilet blocked and cystern not working. been there many times in the past and it's all been great, so hopefully just a blip.

Great village pub with excellent food.
