Obviously the shop and cafe are going through some changes and the menu offering has now become quite limited. However, in the main the food we had today was very nice. Steak pie full of meat. The ploughman’s was not as good though, quantities of ham and cheese been cut back, bread was just half a roll sliced up and the thick cut wedges of home made chips have been replaced by some thin fries with about a third of the bowl uneatable crispy bits of potato. My wife noted the cleanliness of the surround to the booth we sat at was not good, too much dust everywhere and too many flies / spiders about too. Overall not as good a cafe experience as of 3-4 years ago from our experience today. Take away cakes and staff were very good.

Efficient, felt 'Covid safe' Not sure ratatouille is appropriate veg to have with Sunday roast & was quiet 'sharp' - would prefer traditional veg

Excellent food, selected from an tempting new menu. Attentive service, in attractive, tasteful new surroundings, making our lunch a pleasurable experience.
