Everyone enjoyed their meals, the chicken and lamb were excellent, but the beef was a little bit sinewy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Due to the weather it was rather warm inside.

Helpful friendly staff Delicious food Great atmosphere
Roast lunch... You HAVE to have really crunchy, crispy roast potatoes. You just have to. They weren't bad, but they weren't amazing. Super crunchy, fluffy in the middle potatoes make all roast lunch or supper super good. The lamb was alright, but not really pink, per se, nor was it that well seasoned. Would have been nice to have a slice of crispy skin, had the joint been pierced with rosemary, garlic and rubbed with salt all over. The gravy was a bit lacking in umami savouriness... Crack the meat and gravy, and make really crunchy roast potatoes and the hoards will come for miles for them. I thought of something... I wonder if you used a mince pie tray and filled each section with a good two tablespoons of smoking hot duck fat or suet dripping, a bit of salt, and then put a dried off, parboiled potato in each, whether it would be easier to control the amounts and timings to get really crispy potatoes... I know if they come out good, they can go in the fridge over night with a paper towel to stop them sogging, and then whacked in a hot oven the next day, a good roast potato will come back crispy and sometimes even better... Just a thought.
