All 4 of us had a delicious curry (as we had the week before too). Really accommodating as we were later than booked and managed to get in just in time. I love that I have found a new favourite dish as I asked for a milder version and it was perfect! Excited to go again soon.

Came here on a recommendation. First time here and loved the intimacy and ambience. Bright and airy, the restaurant was a perfect size and I was able to hold a conversation without raising my voice over loud background music. The food was excellent and came in a very good time. The service was quick and polite. I've found a little hidden gem, and I will certainly come again.

Whilst the staff are very pleasant we waited over an hour to have our order taken. The waitress seemed to think it was more important to clear and re-lay tables than take our order. It also seemed that take away orders took priority over customers dining in. Also, the ladies toilet was locked am we had to use the Mens.

Food was good but had to wait 45 minutes to order our food. Seemed very under staffed for a Saturday night. Shame as the food was lovely when it eventually arrived.

Two visits in the last couple of weeks, for the first time in a few years. One with a group of 7 of us which was OK, but the service was pretty poor, as we had to keep waiting for someone to appear upstairs when we needed more drinks, so although it wasn't too bad, and the food was OK, it was not the best. We then arrived a few days later as a 2, on a Friday night (unbooked), and you didn't have a table, which i understood, but the girl at the bar didn't really seem to care that we couldn't be accommodated, and just said we'd have to book. I respectfully asked if we could have a drink while we waited for our return taxi, and she just said "We don't just give out drinks to anyone", which I felt was very rude. Nevertheless, the next Friday, we did book. That was a very mixed experience. While the guy who showed us to our table and gave us menus was very friendly and helpful (no complaints), the girl who took our initial order for drinks and popadums didn't seem to be that engaged. We got drinks and placed our full order. I was disappointed that you had no lime pickle - not exactly a big thing, but very surprising. We were barely in to our popadums and the starters arrived, which was too rushed. You should have seen we had not really enjoyed that course yet, and we clearly weren't ready for the starters. The Sheek Kabab was small, and not very well spiced, and not great presentation. The Prawn Puree was awful. Practically tasteless. Like a dilute midly tomato sauce. Not good at all. Little smell, and hardly any taste. It should be rich, albeit midly spiced, but tasty and fragrant. it wasn't. I always think it's wrong when Indian restaurents that put salt on the table, because it should't be required, but in this case I felt I needed it - but there was no one around to ask, so i ate it anyway - and then went back to my popadums. The main courses (Dhansak/Naga/Gobi/Rice/Naan) were actually very good. No complaints about them, at all, but the service was poor. We had to ask for cutlery (which had been removed with the starter). We had no replacement napkins, it took ages to get the girls attention to get further drinks, as she was far too busy leaning against the counter and looking at her phone. The people at the table across from us tried for about 5 minutes to indicate that they wanted to pay their bill, and they were ignored, and had to get up and go over to her. When we'd finished, we waited about 10 minutes for her to notice that we had finished. We sked for the bill and paid, and that was OK. But overall, not a good experience compared to so many other places. Lack of attention to detail, table not reset for the main course - I shouldn't have to ask for cutlery/napkins (the latter never arrived after asking). Poor timing on the delivery of first course - it should be obvious we are still eating appetisers. Having to wait and call across to get more drinks, when it's clear we have empty glasses for 10 minutes. Inexcusable that a waitress is scrolling on her phone ignoring the room. As far as ambiance, i realise it's a small place, and it's personal preference, but I don't like the fact that it is VERY noisy, there are no tablecloths, paper napkins, no one asked us during the meal if everything was OK. It feels more like a cafe than a restaurant. On the positive, the main course was very tasty, but the starters were poor. I won't be returning.
