We had a wonderful time on Sunday at The Dog and the food was the best I can remember even after eating there several times over the years. It was a shame we couldn’t get a table in the restaurant after booking a while in advance. Hopefully next time.

We enjoyed our meal but the service was a bit hit and miss. Staff were polite and helpful but our desserts arrived at least ten minutes apart. No one asked us if we would like coffee after our meal. These are fairly minor issues that didn't spoil our meal but just fell slightly short of good service.

The food, wine and service were all excellent. It was a bit noisy because it was a busy Saturday evening, but that's a reflection of how good it is!
