The Hayloft is a 19th century hay barn that was an intrinsic part of the spice route between Penzance and London. Having been a restaurant for 40 years, the Burns family bought The Hayloft in 2016 and have been renovating the building back to former glory.

Friendly welcome but we're warned that they were short staffed. Didn't bother us as wasn't in a rush but if we hadn't been told, we would have had no idea they were under staffed. Great service and wonderful food. Will return

This table was for my son in law and daughter's first wedding anniversary. They came back so happy with the lovely time they had. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. They were given a card and wine which added a special suprise to their evening. Can't thank you all enough.

ThIs was strange evening, the lady on front of house was delightful but the cooking was a bizarre mixture of OK and disgusting. Weird! My squid was like a bad imitation of pork scratching only not much on the plate. More leaves (or weeds to me!) than squid. My cod curry was disgusting. The rice was wet with water pooling on the dish and the cod was horrible probably not cooked enough but it was like wet rubber. The worst meal I have ever had but the lady front of house was so nice that I could not get too annoyed. Perhaps the person in the kitchen was standing in and was not a chef at all. I don’t know but not and experience to be repeated.

A fabulous Sunday lunch, the best I’ve had, besides my Mothers of course. The service was exceptional, warm, welcoming and friendly. I hope to visit again soon.
