I have been promising to drop in for lunch and we did. Luckily I booked first, as usual it was very busy and because of rain nobody wanted to sit outside. We ordered coffee and Salt Beef toasted sandwiches. My friend an ex US citizen felt they were the best she had ever had, let’s face it she should know coming from the home of salt beef treats. The coffee was good, the sour dough bread was fresh, lovely when toasted . It came with loads of beef and gherkins. Delicious ! Sadly it left no room for cake. Not everything was lost though, we went home with bags of goodies purchased on our way out of the cake shop. We will be back.

We had egg sandwiches with crisps and salad. Very nice. Just to say that while the range of desserts on offer was amazing this sandwich meal was a bit boring. Maybe hot paninis with a crunchy salad would be more adventurous?

My wife loved her pea, mint and courgette soup and toasted cheese scone and our pot of tea with extra boiling water without having to ask for it was great but I really should have sent back my bbq pulled pork pasty the filling in which was way too dry with any bbq sauce evaporated away. We'll be back to try something else though.
