My mother and I ordered the steak and kidney pie. As salad seemed a rather odd thing to serve with meat pie and gravy we asked for veg instead. It seems rather bizarre that no vegetables were available. We opted for just the potato wedges. When the food finally arrived the pie was very small and disappointing lacking in both steak and kidney. I had three small pieces of meat and one piece of kidney and my mother had a similar amount. The wedges were overcooked to the point of tasting burnt. Altogether not a very enjoyable meal and we will think twice before visiting again.

Tbh the food was very average. The meal was not very hot, the tea room was busy and service was slow, offered ketchup and waitress needed reminding. If this is usual quality would not return, also expensive. The tea we had again was very average for a Holt tea room. The whole experience wasn’t great and to cap it off the piece of cake I had was extremely dry. Didn’t complain because I was with a date a didn’t want to embarrass her.

My friend and I had a wonderful afternoon tea, everything was delicious and we were looked after so well- thank you to all the lovely Owl Tearooms staff x

The lady who served was lovely. She kept my grandson entertained with the story that Santa or his elves call in for their lunch. He loved it. Also thank you for the stickers!! Merry Christmas to you all
